Garry King’s entrepreneurial drive led him to open his farm shop so that he could add direct value to the family business by rearing and selling his own fresh meat and eggs. Innovative at the time, King’s Farm Shop was one of the first of its kind and still represents a stronghold of true farm produce ethos, sourcing locally and ensuring the best in quality.
The shop has now been extended and offers an incredible range of fresh meats, homemade quiches, pies, burgers and sausages, of which there are 12 flavours including their signature sausage, The Wendover Royal; the recipe for which remains a firm secret.
“We believe in the best in service and good food at all times. We always welcome our customers and make sure that they know we care” says Garry, who after 30 years is hugely proud of his shop and with good reason. “We make sure that we go that extra mile.” Garry is also passionate about his staff and helping youngsters on the road to a career. “We believe in helping young people to get started and training them in the skill of a butcher, so we welcome apprentices and ensure that they learn best practice while they are working here.”
